REVIEW OF 2018 FOR THE Annual Meeting 1/27/19
2018 Began with a frightening missile alert in Hawaii, the 2nd Women’s March and the collapse of USA gymnastics. Then one of the year’s most shocking tragedies happened on a day set aside for love, Valentine’s Day…the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. As we Marched for our lives and cried Enough is Enough the carnage continued throughout the year at banks, malls and even the Temple of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Mother Nature rained down her own form of death and devastation in the form of the Camp Fires on the west coast, and devastating hurricanes, Florence and Michael, and an earthquake in Indonesia. The last male white rhino died in Kenya, Net Neutrality rules expired, Facebook faced Congress, and we ended the year with a Government shutdown.
