House of Mercy Mission
House of Mercy Mission (HOMM) is a mission organization in Newark New Jersey that is part of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn Church (also in Newark). HOMM serves those in need in the Newark community in many ways. The Wyoming Presbyterian Church participates directly in a number of HOMM programs, and provides a donation to the HOMM general budget to assist in their ongoing ministries. More info at homm.ws
The church provides approximately 125 bag lunches one Saturday per month. This program helps to feed the hungry in downtown Newark. Lunches are prepared on the fourth Friday of each month and distributed the following day. Learn more
Family Promise of Essex County
Wyoming Church, along with other churches in the area, provides temporary shelter and housing for families. Each summer, the church hosts families for one-two weeks and provides both food and living quarters.
The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless
The Wyoming Church supports the outreach and ministries of the Elizabeth Coalition in its efforts to provide temporary and transitional housing for the homeless population of northern New Jersey. The Pumpkin Patch
We participate along with other area organizations in providing Christmas gifts for those in need, and providing and serving Thanksgiving dinner for the Salvation Army, House of Mercy Mission.
Camp Johnsonburg Camperships
Through a campership program, the church provides scholarships for approximately 8 underprivileged inner-city youth to attend Camp Johnsonburg each summer. Along with scholarships, the church also provides supplies that the youth will need while they are at camp, such as towels, sleeping bags, and notebooks. Find more at www.campjburg.org
