Most months volunteers from Wyoming Presbyterian prepare bag lunches and deliver them to needy recipients in a neighborhood in Newark. This Wyoming tradition dates back to 1991. Here’s how you can participate:
Volunteer From Home
Bake brownies or write cheer-up notes and deliver to church before the bag preparation day.
Prepare Lunches
On the fourth Friday night of each month from 7 PM until we’re done (usually around 8pm) in the church kitchen … make peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, bologna sandwiches, assemble bags, pack boxes. No experience necessary – and on the job training is available every month!
Delivering the Lunches
Saturday 10:15 am – approx. 12:30 pm. Drive lunches to House of Mercy Mission and distribute. You’ll always be accompanied by another volunteer with experience, and you’ll get to see where the food is going.
