FAQ: Who, What & Where
Do I have to be a Christian or a Presbyterian to visit? No. All are welcome to participate.
What time is the service? 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
What should I wear?
Come as you are—dressed in casual clothes, dresses and business suits, in jeans and ironed pants, in pressed shirts and ties or T-shirts. There is no prescribed dress code.

Worship–entry to the Sanctuary
The main entry faces Wyoming Ave. There are several small steps or a ramp comes to the front door from the left.
Other Locked Entrances include:
The Main Office Door is located down the sidewalk to the left of the sanctuary. This door has a doorbell for the main offices.
The Fellowship Hall Door is on the sunken patio.
The covered porch door near the playground has a steps up to the sanctuary level or down to the fellowship hall level. A doorbell here is answered during the week by the Open Door Nursery staff.
A “Back Door” to enter the lower level. This ground floor entrance is on the back of the Classroom Building, with a sidewalk coming from Linden.
For entry to the locked doors, please ask a greeter at the main door to open it.
And where do I park?
On either side of Wyoming Avenue. Please note the 2 front entry spaces are preserved for people with need of assistance on Sunday mornings.
On Linden St. to the right of the church building, on the far side of the street only.
OR, either side of the Linden St. above Wyoming Ave across the street from the church.
What to Expect in Worship
A service that is:
- about 1 hour in length,
- includes silent prayers, spoken prayers, sung prayers,
- piano, organ, flute, guitars, handbells—not often all at once, but over the course of a quarter, we enjoy a variety of gifts from those who worship here,
- a reflection, called a sermon, by our preacher of the day (most of the time this is our pastor, but we have guests, and sometimes our own members lead us in understanding God’s word),
- readings from the Hebrew (or Old) Testament and the Christian (or New) Testament,
- a time to respond to the call to serve with gratitude. This is usually spoken of as an offering of ourselves, our time, our talent and our treasure. In other words, this is our thank you gift to God—a new commitment, a volunteer opportunity, a skill we have, a portion of our financial blessings.
Worship occurs in a traditionally styled room.
- A center aisle focuses our attention on a baptismal font that symbolizes our adoption as God’s children,
- and a table reminding us that Christ eats with sinners and saints and feeds us with his own life,
- a cross inviting us to offer ourselves in service to God and each other, as Jesus offered himself,
- a lectern and pulpit where the reading and interpretation of God’s word are proclaimed.
Are you overwhelmed by the constant barrage of media? We’ve made a conscious choice to focus on people over projections. Here you will find
- people,
- a simple printed program, and
- breathing room uninterrupted by flashing lights and constantly changing images.

Will I understand what is happening? Here’s an overview:
- The service has 4 parts: gathering, hearing, responding, and going. Each part is guided by a leader and may include words that are spoken by the people. And songs we all sing together.
- The song book, or hymnal is called “Glory to God,” and the songs have a big number on the page.
- When you arrive you will be given a program that lists everything that is about to happen. It includes the numbers to the songs, too. (BTW—we call the program a “bulletin.”)
- Inside the bulletin is an insert that has upcoming events, and information about what’s happening in the coming week or month.
- Occassionally, our pastor changes things up—so we know how it is to learn something new and never judge anyone!
