Wyoming Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce Matt, our longtime interim accompanist, will serve as the Director of Music Ministry. Matt graduated from Muhlenberg College with a degree in neuroscience and in music, focusing on organ performance.  He has earned a master’s degrees in mathematics and in education and is currently studying in a philosophy program on ethics, epistemology, and mind.  He has taught mathematics and other subjects in schools in Bangladesh, India, Niger, Kuwait, Nepal, Thailand and the United States.

Churches he has worked at as a church musician and organist include Christ Church Bangkok in Thailand and several in Pennsylvania, including Seibert EC Church in Allentown, First United Methodist Church in New Kensington, Slickville Presbyterian Church, and Sons of Zebedee Lutheran Church in Saltsburg.

He sings as a tenor in Harmonium Choral Society and Harmonium Chamber Singers and has performed in choirs and on the organ in several churches locally.

We rejoice in the variety of gifts and depth of experience he brings to our music ministry. With our Director of Children’s Music, Ebony Wiggins, the breadth of our musical praise will grow our discipleship throughout the congregation. Matt will continue his longtime joy of international performance and teaching in the summers and be with WPC on a “school schedule” of August through June. Ebony will continue as our summer accompanist.

If you are interested in becoming part of the amazing music ministry of the church, from voice to handbells to instruments, let Matt know!
